About Me
👋 I’m Jamie — a BACP-registered integrative counsellor.
I trained for three years within the NHS Kent and Medway Social Care Partnership Trust, and before becoming a counsellor, I spent over a decade in teaching and teacher education — a background that helps me meet people with warmth, respect, and curiosity.
🧩 What this work means to me
I’m drawn to this work because I know how powerful it can be to feel truly seen and understood.
Many of us carry untold stories, and sharing them can be an act of courage and relief. My role is to walk alongside you, at your pace, without judgement.
Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you — it’s about making space for every part of you, even the parts you’ve hidden away.
🌿 How I work
I offer a calm, supportive presence — so you can come just as you are.
People I work with often describe me as kind, empathetic, grounded, and non-judgemental.
Because everyone is different, I draw from a range of approaches:
Humanistic – supporting your growth, authenticity, and potential
Psychodynamic – exploring unconscious patterns and how past experiences influence the present
Existential – reflecting on meaning, choice, and direction
Relational – valuing our connection
Cognitive – understanding your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours
🌈 A safe, inclusive space
I am an LGBTQIA+ affirmative therapist and deeply committed to creating a space where all parts of you are welcome.
I’m attentive to how factors like race, culture, class, gender, sexuality, and identity shape our experiences and mental health.
My work is grounded in anti-oppressive practice, and I continue to learn through supervision, reflection, and training so I can support you as fully and thoughtfully as possible
You might be feeling unsure, guarded, or afraid of what might come up.
I understand how hard that can be, and I’m here to work with care, respect, and kindness.
If you feel we might work well together, I’d love to hear from you.
